Supriya Arun

Hi! My name is Supriya and I am currently a graduate student at Columbia University. I am majoring in Computer Vision and Machine Learning.

Prior to this, I worked as a Computer Vision Engineer at Vectorly. I have also worked as a Network Engineer at Cisco. I graduated with an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from RVCE, Bangalore, in August 2019. Apart from computer vision, I am passionate about street photography, travelling, and cooking. I love meeting new people, learning about new cultures, capturing and understanding images. I have travelled to more than 12 countries (many more on the list!), and I have lived in Singapore for a few years.

My journey with computer vision started during my second year of undergraduate studies at a hackathon. Since then, I have explored my interests with multiple projects and internships. I moved from networking at Cisco to pursue my interest in image processing and computer vision further.

During this change, it was vital for me to be a part of work that is both impactful and meaningful at the same time.

My strengths

I am a tenacious person who never gives up! I am enthusiastic about picking up new skills; I also have the ability to do this fairly quickly. I have a knack for research documentation. I am very methodical and plan my work and research very well. Here are some samples of how I outline my research workflows.
